Journal # 20
In my country, traffic jam usually happens in the big cities. I think that it causes many affection and disadvantage for people. First, it takes a lot of time of people while they can use it to relax or do anything. The second negative results in pollution that residents are who have to suffer, and there are also some others. One of the causes of this phenomenon is because some resident’s awareness has not been good. They often hustles so that they will be ones first take out. Consequently, all of them are obstructed and can not move. If everyone performs following the traffic laws and not compete, traffic jam will absolutely decrease, even though not exist. This situation is an unacceptable behavior in my culture I think that it should be improved and stopped.

When I have free time, I usually go out with my family, my friends, or my co-workers. One of trips which I am the most rememberable goes to the central of Vietnam with my family. My family visited in here for 3 years ago when I just graduated in the university. Certainly, I was so amazing when saw the wonderful sceneries in here. I visited the old capital of my country which was elapsed for 100 years ago. Then, we went Phong Nha cave, this place, for me, may be the most beautiful scenery which I used to see. A relaxing and pleasant feeling appeared in my heart because of its peace. The second trip which cause a deep impression go to Lang Biang mountant in Da lat with my co-workers. We camped at the bottom of this mountant, after it took more than 2 hours to us climb to the top mountant. We shivered with cold air in here, however it didn’t make us to lose enthusiasm. In the evening, we sang and danced around a fire, and played many traditional games. We slept a rainy night in outside, although it was very cold, we still felt warm. The third trip which I am also interesed so much went to the western of Vietnam. My friends and I drove 8 hours by motobikes from our homes to here. All of us felt very tired when came this place. We visited my friend and she cordially welcomed us. We was walking around Can Tho city which was downtown of the western in the invening. Especially, foods was very cheap and delicous, and citizens in here was so friendly. In the next morning, we had to get up so early, and then we rented a boat to go to the river market. This market was only commerce in the early morning in 4-5 am, and all buying or selling also preformed in the river. We ate many kinds of fruits because the western supply rice and fruits to my country, and export. In spite of so tired, we were very enjoyous and relaxing. Having many other trips for me are very interesed, but three trips, which I told above, are my best favorite trips. Because my enjoying is traveling, I usually spend my leisure time with this activity. I feel that it help me not only to ralax but also to cement my relationships with my family, friends, and co-workers.

I think that a thing which I could'nt do during Spring break is having not yet gone Hollywood. My friend and I arrived in Los Angeles, then we visited China Town, and Santa Monica beach in the last week evening. But we did'nt have enough time to Hollywood, we regreted that missed. The remaining thing which I did'nt complete was I did'nt study so hard. In my studying schedult, I had to learn Engish at least 4 -5 hours/day, but I could'nt and my schedult was smashed up. I don't know what is the reason in spite of stayed at home almost time. I am a lazy man.

Yesterday, I heard a bad news of my friend. Her dad suddenly died to result in a heart trouble. I feel so amazing and hurt because I remember before I had arrived in the US, I visited him and his health was so well. Similarly, I am worried about my health of grand mom and parents, they are aged and I don't entirely hope that a similar situation will happen.
My grand mom loves me so much. She cried many times when she knew that I decided to study abroad, and until now. When I lived in Vietnam, although I was mature, she always took care me. She would be willing to cook any food which I like and to reserve parts of best for me. In my heart, I love her, too. I usually converse with her, take her to visit a doctor or to go some places which she enjoys. Now, I can not beside and take care her, but I always wish she would be wealthy and fun. I hope to come back my home in the end of this year in order to visit her and know that she is still well. Truthfully, I will always miss her and pray for her having a good heath. Besides, I will do the same things to my parents and all of members of my family, too. Finally, I want to say I love them.

Journal # 16
I think that I will study English daily during the spring break. Practically, I do not have any strategy to keep-up my language practice because there are some following reasons. First, I will not be a lot of plans visiting somewhere or relaxing during the spring break. I will stay at home to study and if I want to go out, I will take a bus, walk around where I want or need to go. I think it is also my way in order to relax. Second, if my friends invite me go to a vocation, I will be willing and take 1 or 2 days my holidays. However, I will compensate study in the remaining days of the spring break. To addition, I always have a habituation having to finish my tasks before thinking of a play. So I will not worry about tasks which I have not yet finished. Third, I think when I go to some places; I can still learn many things. For instance, I can contact to lots of native speakers to practice my listening and oral skills. It is sometimes more helpful than studying at home. I can learn many new vocabularies and know many places where I have not yet arrived. Finally, I always spend at least 2 hours/ day to review, do homework or learn many new things. I think that it is mainly element to keep up my language practice.

To night, I will go to Los Angeles visit a friend who also is from Vietnam and working a tourism company. We are going to Hollywood and China town. She says that she will cook many kinds of Vietnam foods such as: Pho, canh chua,… I just hear that I fell very delicious. There are many Vietnam restaurents in the California but foods still are not as delicious as Vietnam because they lack taste’s home town. Maybe I live two days in here and will comeback on Monday. In the remaining days of Spring break, I possiblely stay at home and study. Some friends want to go to the theater and Disneyland, and they invite me to attend. I fell very joyous but they are not yet exactly on date. I don’t know everything has changes in the last minites, although if not go somewhere, I will stay at home and study. Have a good Spring break!

I spent 2 weeks in the US. Life in here has many things different from Vietnam. The first days have a lot of advantages but also no few difficulties. This monday week is the first day I go to the classes, so I am extremely nervous because I don’t know how about my teachers and my new friends. Lazily, I have to get up at 5:45 am, it is so early in the US because sun rises very late and climate is very cold in the morning. 6:30 I take on bus and then I have to stranfer another. It takes more than 1 hour to arrive at my school. Most of my new friends are from asia, someone is from the south America, EU,... They are very friendly but we have a little difficult because of hindered in languages. My teachers are heartily and enthusiastically. The first class I take is Composition. Maybe I think it is a hard class and so boring because I hate Writing. Oh no, my teacher is so beatiful, and she is very funny and friendly. I accidentally knew that day was the Patrick's day which anyone had to wear something in green, if not, you would be pulled. Thus, She worn a green pull, a green hat and a cute smile. She said that we had to write the writing journals each week and upload in our blogspots. I tried to create my blog in the last Thursday and post this jounal but it could not be and report error. I didn’t know what was reason. Now it is still not yet willing and I will forcedly post this journal after everything is ok.

I am proud of my country, and rightly my family. I think that my family is a typical standard of families in Vietnam, so my cultural identity is affected by my family. My father is a classical gentlement; thus, he is very interseting asian’s style. My mother is a kind hearted and lever lady. Maybe my parents who are the most effects my personality, behavier and life’s style. I love to the cultural asian because it teaches me have to love relationships, respect friends, and live gracious to everyone. In my opinion, I know that I always have to live possitive and excess all difficuties which I am facing. According to, I always think that I can do anything which I like provided it is right. My mind is only two concept: right or wrong. If I feel right, I will do, and if not, I will not. Therefore, I believe that my parents also are confident and pride me.
If I ask myself that what will I make to everyone can see my cultural identity? My respond is nothing. I will live with all of qualities which I possess because I always live truthfully and not deceitfully. I hope that everyone will feel I am a friendly and nice person, and I want to make friend with everyone.

I enjoy reading books so much. Ordinarily, I read a lot of kinds of books but the kind of book which I like the best is social and realistic kind. A book recently which is a deep impression to me is “Canh Dong Bat Tan”, and its English name is “endless fields”. This book is a work of a young author in Vietnam, her name is Nguyen Ngoc Tu.
This story tells about a poor family lives in far away region in Vietnam, they do not have a permanent house and job. They desire a truthful love and dream a happy life. But these things can not be, and their’s lives are always surrounded by poverty and hardship. Addition to, they are also oppressed by people who are on behalf of government. By this story, I absorb deeply about lives of many people around me, and see clearly more the real faces of society which are hided by people use their power to grind the faces of poor. So I feel more respectful my life, and know to share and help everyone more than.
